"I wish to thank you for remembering your fellow citizens in this very special way."
Vice President Cheney - August 10, 2004

"This Quilt is a symbol of our national unity and a reminder of how far we have come from the tragedy that befell our nation."
Former Mayor of New York City, Rudolph Giuliani - September 8, 2004
On September 11th 2001, when terrorist struck the WTC, Pentagon, and aircraft over Pennsylvania we gasped as a nation. The United States, as well as many other countries felt the ignorance of terrorism in it's glory, and we were struck with shock. To honor those we lost as well as the living victims and to give our children a means of expression, a genuine ability to participate in the healing process of all, the Heart of America Quilt has taken form.

On September 13th the journey began for the Heart of America Quilt, with it's effort to help the families, friends, and our country heal from this great tragedy. In the process the Heart of America Quilt has touched the lives of many. This Sept. 11th memorial quilt has helped to unite and heal the children, schools, and communities that have taken part. Now expected to be an acre in size this memorial for the victims of Sept. 11th and the war on terror has engulfed other nations as well as The United States of America.
